About goodcompany

Learning begins when we meet the world with attention.

Information can tell us about the world. Encounter helps us learn how to live in it.

goodcompany creates authentic, immersive learning experiences for children, young people, families and schools - rooted in real places, real people, and unscripted moments of human-to-human connection.

The way we work

Start with a stone. See where it leads.

A skipping stone does not travel in a straight line. It lands, gathers momentum, and touches the water again—each point of contact sending a ripple outward.

We think learning works in much the same way. It is rarely one grand moment of transformation. More often, it begins with something small: a host's welcome, an unfamiliar food, a question a child has not thought to ask before, or a conversation that lingers on the journey home.

These encounters give people somewhere real to begin. They ask participants to pay attention, communicate with care, adapt when things are unfamiliar, and remain open when the easy answer no longer fits. With time to reflect, small moments can become the beginnings of wider understanding—of other people, of the places we inhabit, and of ourselves.

goodcompany designs the conditions for those moments to happen. We create enough structure for people to feel safe, and enough openness for surprise, relationship, and discovery to emerge.

The Wayfinding Framework

A rhythm for meaningful learning.

Every goodcompany experience follows a simple learning rhythm.

  1. 01 — ORIENT
Where am I, and what assumptions am I carrying?

We prepare with context, curiosity, care, and an awareness that our own perspective is never the whole story.

  2. 02 — ENCOUNTER
What happens when I pay attention to someone else's world?

We meet people, places, practices, and stories with respect—not as content to consume, but as relationships to enter thoughtfully.

  3. 03 — REFLECT
What did I notice, feel, and begin to understand?

We make space to process experiences, questions, emotions, and changing perspectives.

  4. 04 — RESPOND
What might I do with what I have learned?

We translate insight into a conversation, a new habit, an act of contribution, or a more attentive way of moving through the world.

The goodcompany compass

Curious. Brave. Good. Together.

These are the qualities that guide how we design, host, and learn. They are also the habits we hope participants carry into the rest of their lives.

Curious

We pay attention before we decide what something means. We notice, ask, and stay open to learning.

Brave

We take thoughtful steps beyond what is familiar. We make room for uncertainty, new perspectives, and the possibility of changing our minds.

Good

We treat people, stories, and places with care. We consider who is represented, who is heard, and how we can participate responsibly.

Together

We learn through relationship. We make space for conversation, shared discovery, and the contribution each person brings.

These experiences help participants strengthen the skills that cannot be handed to them as information: listening well, communicating across difference, adapting in unfamiliar settings, thinking from more than one point of view, and responding with empathy and responsibility.

The person behind goodcompany

Built from a belief in good encounters.

goodcompany was founded by Sinni, a parent, learning designer, and cross-cultural leader.

Living and working across different places has shaped her family's life as much as her professional work. She has seen how navigating an unfamiliar neighbourhood, learning the rhythms of a new culture, or becoming a guest at someone else's table can help children grow more observant, resilient, and open to the people around them.

Across her work in communities and mission-led organisations, she has also seen that lasting learning rarely comes from being told what to think. It comes when people are given the opportunity to encounter something beyond their usual frame of reference—and are supported to make sense of it with care.

goodcompany brings those convictions together: thoughtful design, meaningful human connection, and a belief that children and families can grow important ways of seeing and relating when they have time to explore the world alongside one another.

Start a Conversation

A little time in good company can make room for big changes.

Whether you are a parent looking for a more meaningful way to spend time together, an educator seeking a thoughtful learning partner, or a community host with a story to share, we would love to start a conversation.
